Return to weaving

So after two and a bit years of a loom free life I have returned to weaving. I have gone for a Schacht mighty wolf to have the width I’m used to. But now sit in the spare room rather than the garage.
Same warp same pattern new yarn 2/28 silk forest green

Back to the Loom

After a time of life to busy have at last got back to the loom. There was a bit to much to sort out with broken threads that had been putting me off. But sorted relatively easily and ready to start a few feet a day again.

Re-draft

A redraft to an 8x8 herringbone so after cutting half the threads in the warp and retreading a quarter of the heddles we now have
A bit hard on the eye but good for checking the redraft.  More pleasant is
Can't wait to see it finished.

Big Progress

Finally managed to work out the problems around the revolving box keep jamming. And the courage to try again. Watching 3 shuttles and keeping it all going is a challenge but managed a yard with only one shuttle jam. The experience is also there to move back to where the problem was and carry on.

Progress

Yesterday met up with Ruth Black to compare looms and share experiences, I can now pirn wind as a continuous process, mind you have to watch your fingers. Last week managed to get all three running.

today finally got a second pirn winder on the machine working so now able to wind pirns two by two so much quicker.
And some more weaving completed, slow but sure.
