Revolving Box

Revolving Box

The revolving box is much like the chamber of a gun, turning to allow the next shuttle of yarn to be picked adding a weft thread, there and back before the punched cards either hold the box where it is or move it forward or backward one shuttle.

The single end, so each shuttle has to travel out and back before a change of shuttle so all tweed woven on a Hattersley domestic has at least 2 picks of weft before a change of colour.
the single end

After some adjustment and lubrication the box started to work, but I ended up with is out of phase so no shuttle in the barrel I was picking from, this resulted in some gaps in the weft threads.
