Success

Test piece passed
Weavers Number issued.

Blogging up to date

Over the last couple of weeks the loom shed aka the garage (not that it's ever seen a car) has been tidied up. A extra bar for beaming has been added, to allow more distance for the chain of warp to spread out. A new warp has been beamed and tied in rather than re-threading which is quicker once the way of it has been grasped.

And away again on the next tweed this one is 25m the longest yet by 2½ times. The advantage is more fabric for the same amount of start and finish work.

Completing Purple

After two good days weaving after an early finish at the proper job, the beam came to look like this, which means we have run out of warp thread.

so I was able to cut off the completed tweed, 10 meters I'm quite proud of. Off to the Mill in the morning for their assessment of the quality, and to choose how much of what colour to do next.

As no mistakes had been made in the threading and the warp had not tangled the next tweed can be tied in rather than threaded so we'll see how tricky that is.

A good Saturday morning

A gentle start at half nine and a good time weaving means 6 feet woven.

Threaded again

Progress

Two foot on Saturday and another two foot today making progress.
That should have been 3 foot each day as one pirn is about 3" of cloth so 12 = 36"
18" the other day And another 6" woven today demonstrating it to Amanda
